Welcoming Message and Purpose Statement of the FOA
Welcome to the Football Officials of America (FOA) website. Here you will find information concerning our organization, its codes of conduct & ethics, and its desire to support the spirit of football.
FOA is an organization dedicated to primarily officiating Minor League Football. At the present time it provides officials for several Minor League Football leagues playing their games in the spring.
In 2008, the FOA will cover over 100 pre and regular season minor league football games. Using six man mechanics and NCAA modified rules as they pertain to specific leagues. In addition this year members of the FOA will also cover at least seven post season Minor league bowl games held throughout Northern California. This represents a lot of football, will over 16,000 snaps.
In the future, FOA hopes to expand and assist Minor League Football throughout the Western United States. We see our clients as all Minor League Football leagues and teams. Our members are located throughout the Western Region of the country. FOA members live primarily in California, but our ranks include Arizona, Oregon and Washington officials too. Our membership is open to all those officials wishing to improve their skills and work Minor League Football games.
Our current clients are the Golden Coast Football League and a select number of both Northern California Amateur Football Federation and Central Valley Football League teams. We have also provided coverage for the Independent Women’s Professional football and several unaffiliated teams.
FOA members come from a wide range of vocational and professional backgrounds. Yet, the common thread is their personal love of the game, sense of integrity, dedication to consistency and desire to improve their officiating skills. This organization will give its members a place to learn, grow as officials, and improve their individual skills while fostering “officiating team work”.
